ESOF '18
European Student Orchestra Festival
Strasbourg, France 06/06/2018 - 10/06/2018
ESOF 2018 brings together student orchestras from all over Europe, allowing them to share their passion for symphonic music and musical heritage abroad. After 3 editions in Leuven (Belgium), the Orchestre Universitaire de Strasbourg is honoured to host the 2018 edition from 6 to 10 June. During this fourth edition, orchestras from France, Sweden, Germany and Switzerland will gather and share their music with a broad audience.
The concerts will take place in three venues: the Palais de la Musique et des Congrès, la Cité de la Musique et de la Danse and the Palais universitaire. The organization is in the hands of the Orchestre Universitaire de Strasbourg in partnership with ESOF vzw, founding organization in Belgium, as well as the European Network of University Orchestras. The University Fund, Strasbourg City and the Region are our proud financial and organizational partners.
ESOF 2018 is THE European music event in Strasbourg: over 500 young talented musicians will meet their European counterparts and render symphonic music more accessible.
The Orchestre Universitaire de Strasbourg will perform the opening concert, conducted by Corinna Niemeyer on 6 June at 8.30PM at the Palais de la Musique et des Congrès. On 7 and 8 June at 8.30PM, concerts will take place simultaneously at the Auditorium of France 3 and the Palais Universitaire. Finally, on 9 June at 8.30PM, a newly formed European Orchestra, composed of members of all participating orchestras, will close the festival at the Palais de la Musique et des Congrès.
